
“Standing in the shadow of Mount Ararat, the biblical resting place of Noah’s Ark, the Metsamor nuclear power plant is ‘aging and dangerous,’ according to the United States government. Like Chernobyl, another Soviet-designed plant, Metsamor has no containment structure, and its seismic location endangers future safety in the area. Akın displayed photographs of ancient stones from Metsamor, detecting radiation beams reflected by these artifacts and transforming the data into visualized drawings, blending archaeology, fine arts, and nuclear science.”
